We all know Yoga is renowned for its stress busting benefits.
There is one simple pose however that even us non-yogi’s can really benefit from when a bout of anxiety or stress hits.
All you have to do is lie on the ground with your legs up against the wall, as demonstrated in the image below. Lie as close to the wall as is comfortable. Then focus on your breathing. Remain like this for 5-10 minutes.
If you feel you need a little support, you can place a cushion under your head or under your bum, otherwise lie flat.
Lying in this position slows down your heart rate, thereby inducing a sense of calm, and greatly relieving anxiety and stress.
Apparently it is very beneficial for also relieving a number of ailments, including, headaches, menstrual cramps and even insomnia!
So, the next time you feel your stress levels rising, give this yoga pose a go!
