It’s no secret that we, like pretty much every fashion blog in the world, are massive fans of Blake Lively, so when we saw her new ad for Gucci Premiere Perfume, we really weren’t that surprised to learn discover that she completely dazzles in the photoshoot.
The pic is a real throwback to classic era Hollywood, a look that Blake is a dab hand at getting perfect. The gossip girl herself took to Instagram to share the snap, and spoke recently to Vogue about her first memories of sampling perfumes.
“My mom would have different fragrances for different times of the year. They were a part of her identity. I don’t remember the specific ones she used, but I remember the bottles. One was red and shaped like an apple. It was like something out of a Disney movie where you would hold it and be like, “The power!”
“I first started wearing fragrance when I was thirteen or fourteen, and the smell was candy-like. They were in very colorful bottles, like turquoise and pink. By the time I was sixteen or seventeen, it got more girly and more floral. Then, in my twenties, when I started to know the kind of woman I wanted to become, the notes got a little stronger and more woodsy, with sass but also strength. [Fragrance] can be such a powerful tool, a marker of who you are.”
We gotta say, we agree with her on all of the above, a smell can often remind you of a specific time or place. Can’t wait to try the new Gucci Premiere now!
