Blake Lively can rock a killer smokey eye just as easily as she can a girl-next-door look.
While we love her golden goddess style, we do love it when she hits the darker colours and pulls off a slightly vampish smokey eye.
We love how she never goes too dramatic, but instead wears a little hint of smokiness.
So how does her makeup artist create it?
Rather than diving straight into the eyeshadow application, Blake’s makeup artist, Elaine Offers, uses an eyeliner pencil to create a subtle smokey eye.
She says she treats eyeliner like a cream eyeshadow.
After priming the eyelids, Elaine starts from the waterline using a L’Oreal Kohl pencil, and elongates the eye upwards “in an angular shape”, blending as she goes.
Next, she applies Blakes choice of NARS cream shadows on the lid, before then moving under the lower lash line to add a little more depth.
On Blake’s waterline, it’s back to the pencils, and this time Elaine uses Urban Decay glide-on eyeliner pencils in light gold or a soft beige if Blake wants to lighten the look a little.
If going for a full-on smokey look, she will use a darker shade.
Next, Elaine curls Blake’s lashes and applies a L’Oreal mascara. When attending red carpet events, Blake is known to wear L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara (similar here).
Elaine says she always finishes Blake’s look by defining her brows with a Kevyn Aucoin pencil in Warm Blonde.
There you have it guys, Blake’s smokey eye secret!
