My Top 5 Eyeshadow Palettes!

As a makeup lover, I am always trying out eye shadow palettes – I just love buying them. Most weekends I am asked what makeup I am wearing and the majority of the time, it was one of these palettes I used to create the look. I have loads of palettes I love, but these are the 5 I find myself using the most. I hope you enjoy!! 🙂

Up first…….

1. Naked Basics

Price: €29

During the day if I wear eye shadow, I love a matte look! Urban Decay’s first ever MATTE palette, featuring six gorgeously Naked neutrals. Matte eye-shadows are not loved by all, but I find them extremely easy to wear. These shadows are more natural, look great on all skin types/ ages, and are perfect for the girl-next-door look. Although the five of the shades are matte, the lightest shadow called Venus, actually does contain the tiniest hint of shimmer, it’s the perfect inner eye corner colour, just enough shine to make your eyes stand out. This is one of my favourites steps in makeup.

It all comes in a sleek compact that has a slight sheen and a suede-like feel. Best of all, the slim design is perfect for travel – while this palette is perfectly travel sized, it is loaded with full-size shadow pans, just like Urban Decay’s other Naked palettes.

2. Crown Brush ‘Smoke It Out’

Price: €24.99

The Crownbrush ‘Smoke It Out’ palette is a BARGAIN and defo a must have in every girls makeup drawer. This palette comes with 36 amazing eye shadow shades mainly consisting of both matte and shimmer colours including warm and cold colours in light shades for highlighting and dark shades for emphasising. I love this palette because it literally has every colour you need in it. If I am creating a cranberry eye or a silver toned eye, golds and oranges or just a plain smokey eye this palette is the one I turn too.

3. Naked 2

Price: €44.00

After using them all…. I always go back to Naked 2!! This palette is the follow up to the original bestselling Naked palette with stunning second edition proves that neutral is anything but boring. Showcasing a dozen completely different shades than the first bronze-based collection, it includes a stunning range from pale and deep, to matte and sparkly. You’ll achieve a host of new neutral looks, smoky dramatic eyes, and everything in between. If I want a taupe brown, or any brown colour for that matter – I always go for this one. I just love it!!!

4. NYC Individual Eye Palette – For Green Eyes

Price: €4.99

Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes… NYC Individual Eyes takes the guess work out of maximising your beautiful eye appeal with stunning results. The kits are custom designed for specific eye colour and contain specially coordinated shadow colour collections to intensify and enhance eye colour. I was sent the three palettes and I fell in love with the palette for green eyes. The Palette has a range of stunning deep charcoal purples/auburns. My favourite thing about this whole palette however is the highlighter and primer section. Both are actually really good and I use the highlighter nearly every day. A great little buy and so affordable.

5. Sleek i Divine VintageRomance Palette

Price: €9.99

If you are a regular reader of SoSueMe then you would know of my love for Sleek. Sleek makeup is super affordable and in my opinion really good. If you don’t want to splash out on a makeup palette, then the Sleek range is for you. I adore this particular eye makeup Vintage Romance’ palette which has a beautiful variety of autumnal colours that will follow straight through to summer. This little baby has a range of shades from metallic silvers, golds and bronzes to shimmery berry shades to navy and black. Perfect for creating a day time and night time look…. and the good news is if you wet your brush first with any of these shades you will get a much better colour pay off and a chic dramatic look for night.

And….. that’s it for my favourite eyeshadow palettes! Hope you enjoyed this blog post and you found a palette worth picking up 🙂

Lots of love!

Sue xx
