My Top 5 Perfumes!

large (8)

The right perfume can seal your appearance and give you that added confidence boost you might need!

I read before that there are three different types of perfume-wearers and this is so true!! The ones who don’t wear enough, the ones who wear too much, and the ones who wear just enough.

I am a huge perfume lover… but in saying that – I have a particular scent I love and I tend to stick to that type, it’s almost like a woody/musk smell. They say you can tell a lot about a woman by the perfume she wears… and I think you can too.

Today I am here to tell you guys my top 5 favourite perfumes of all time! Before you read any further – if you are a super sweet smelling perfume lover, then click out of this article now! I dislike sweet perfumes and never ever buy them.

1. Jo Malone  – Lime Basil & Mandarin

Price: From €50

First up is the aul reliable – Jo Malone! I dont think there is a sinner on this earth who doesn’t LOVE Jo Malone’s scents. If someone walks past me in a bar  and they are wearing Jo Malone, my nose nearly follows them. The smell is so rich, clean and expensive – it’s a smell that is so strong, yet not over powering. The thing about Jo Malone colognes is that they last – I could spray mine on first thing in the morning, and then in the evenings, someone could ask me wheat perfume I’m wearing and I wouldn’t have reapplied it all day.

How It Smells? Peppery basil and aromatic white thyme bring an unexpected twist to the scent of limes on a Caribbean breeze. A modern classic.

If you havent tried any of the Jo Malone range – then get into Brown Thomas tomorrow and smell it – heaven!

2. Hermes -Elixir des Merveille

Price: About €120

o.3834

This is my ultimate fav – I am a Hermés perfume addict. When I first met Dylan he commented how amazing my perfume was and this is the one I was wearing at the time. This perfume is so nice that I go through a bottle every 6 months. Now in saying that – its expensive but the smell is divine!

How It Smells? The main scent for me is an orange smell… a musky orange! The transparent orange of the original makes way for a potent swirl of orange zest, chocolate and spices.

3. Molecule

Price: About €100

o.3518

This perfume / cologne is to die for!!! This is the kind of perfume that after a few days of having in your handbag, your handbag smells so amazing that you almost forgot how good molecule actually smells!

This perfume is different… and why? There is a single aromatic ingredient in Molecule 02 called ambroxan. This single organic chemical compound actually produces a bunch of notes which can be best defined as woody, fresh, salty and musky with a slight undertone of amber. The unique thing about ambroxan is that it interacts with the pheromones produced by your body and the result is a scent which cannot be duplicated in any way. Every singe person who wears it smells different!

The good new is, this cologne is also unisex, so if you buy it for your BF – you can use it too 😉 ( or visa versa)

4. Tom Ford – Black Orchid

Price: About €120

ford-orchid-box

This is sex in a bottle – excuse the french!!! A luxurious and sensual fragrance, Tom Ford Black Orchid with its rich dark accords and alluring potion of black orchids and spice is new and timeless. This perfume is so stunning that it lingers in your nose for hours after smelling it. It is rich, intense and slightly spicy but the spice does settle after an hour or so. The scent is mature and has a slight masculine edge. all I know is that it smells like nothing else I own or have tested!

How It Smells? The attention is captured by a sensuous blend of black truffle and ylang, mingled with fresh bergamot and blackcurrant. The heart is deepened with the intoxicating lotus wood.

5. Chanel – Coco

Price: About €80.00

coco-chanel

Not many loved this one by Chanel but for some reason whenever I wore Coco, people would stop and ask me about my perfume, especially men. The year 1984 saw the historic launch of Coco by Chanel, a French fashion giant. This perfume is a creation of Jacques Polge and classified as an oriental spicy fragrance.

This perfume is one I havent had for a few years, but every time I smell it, I say to myself – “I’m buying that next time”. There is a strong woody/ orange scent from this perfume and I think you guys can see the pattern here – orange woody smells are my ultimate fav!!

How It Smells? This is a blend of balmy, sweet and warm aromas. The Bulgarian rose is the most evident accord in the top note of this perfume, while orange cloves dominate the heart note. The base note is a blend of numerous scents like amber, vanilla and civet.

Chanel Coco lasts all day and can be too intense with more than one spray. I hope they keep this around as it is devastatingly lovely.
