My City Break Travel Beauty Essentials!

sosueme travel essentials

Hey Everyone,

Following my blog post on my trip to Nice, I got so many questions about my must-have travel essentials that I figured, why not write a blog post on it?

I always have a habit of packing a ton of things in my handbag – hairbrush, lip balm, makeup bag, iPhone, everything but the kitchen sink basically – but if I had to choose the absolute essentials to have in my travel bag when I’m travelling, then there are a trusty few staples that I definitely couldn’t leave without.

I know they may not all fit into a handbag, but if you’re going on a short city break and need to be selective about which products to bring, then these are the supplies that I like to have with me.

1. YSL Top Secrets Instant Glow Moisturiser

YSL Top Secret

This Top Secrets Moisturiser from YSL is like the perfect primer for keeping your makeup patch-free all day. I first featured it in my August Favourites blog post

It doesn’t matter where I’m going, this gem comes with me! It’s such a good product and while admittedly YSL is on the pricier side of the scale,  I always find it’s one of those few brands where you definitely get what you pay for.

2. Jo Malone

My new favourite Jo Malone cologne! I usually love the lime and basil scent but this particular fragrance, Oud & Bergamot is equally as beautiful!

There’s just something about its musky tone that makes it absolutely perfect for Autumn/Winter. There was no way I was going to Nice without this in my handbag, no question about it!

3. SOSU Lashes

As you know, I have been trialing/changing/ testing my SOSU lashes for the past year to make sure they are 100% perfect before they hit the shelves.

They’re so light that they’re perfect for both day and night so naturally I brought a few sets with me to Nice.

I don’t know if I told you guys this already, but the SOSU lashes are re-usable too. For those asking, they will be launching next year!

4. Fuschia Mineral Makeup Powder

If I can’t pack my makeup bag then I usually just bring the Fuschia Mineral Makeup Powder. I count this as an essential because it really sets my foundation. Usually I don’t have to re-apply it for the day once it’s on but if you’re out and about walking all day, as we were in Nice, then it’s handy to have it with you if you do need a top-up.

It’s also the perfect size for the handbag too. I first reviewed it last year so if you want to read more about it, just check out my blog post review.

5. Garnier Miscellar Cleansing Water

Garnier Miscellar Cleansing Water

This is just WOW. Seriously!

I still can’t believe that I hadn’t heard about this long before my trip to France!

It’s definitely my new favourite cleanser, without a doubt. It’s so light but yet it removes every bit of makeup (yes, including eye makeup) and it also comes in a travel-size bottle too. Bonus!

The travel-size version is actually the reason I bought it!

I needed a cleanser for France so when I was in Penneys I spotted the Garnier Miscellar Water for something like €2.50 and figured it would be the perfect size for my handbag! I will definitely be buying the full size bottle now.

6. L’Occitane Creme Divine Moisturiser

 L’Occitane Creme Divine Moisturiser

This absolute gem of a product featured in my September Monthly Faves. It’s pricey, but so worth every cent. I’m a stickler for good skincare products and this is one I definitely stand by 100%.

I first started using the Divine Cream because my usual moisturiser had run out and I couldn’t believe the how soft it left my skin feeling. I tend to suffer from dehydrated skin but after using this moisturiser, my skin felt so nourished and hydrated.

And there you have it guys, my handbag travel essentials!
