Nothing beats a few lifesaving tips and tricks to keep your clothes and jewellery in top shape. Here’s some of the best that we’ve managed to collect over the years, and hopefully they could save your skin some day!
– Remove white deodorant marks from a garment by gently rubbing the protective foam from hangars against the fabric.
– Spray your tights with a sticky hairspray to avoid holes and runs.
– If you get an oily stain on a handbag, coat the mark with baby powder and let it stand overnight. By morning the stain should be gone. If a bit still remains, simply repeat the process until you’re happy.
– To clean dirt off suede, remove the crust from some bread and let it go stale. Rub the dirt or stain with the edge of the stale bread and watch the problem disappear.
– Need to freshen up some old and musty smelling clothes? Spray them with a mixture of one part vodka to two parts water. Better than any product you’ll pay for!
– Need to stretch out some tight shoes?? Fill two freezer bags with water and pop one in each shoe. Put the shoes into the freezer overnight and as the water turns to ice it will expand and gently stretch your shoes for you!
– If blush or bronzer breaks open in your handbag, use pre-moistened makeup removing wipes for a thorough cleanup. They’ll sort the mess perfectly.
– Wrap an empty bottle of your fave perfume in a handkerchief and leave it in amongst your bras and underwear for a subtle scent.
– Paid a fortune for a good pair of sunglasses? Don’t leave them resting on your head for long periods on a hot day as heat can start to warp the frames. Always store them in a hard case.
– If you wear a lot of shirts to work and they’re prone to sweat stains, then spray the area with lemon juice before washing. The natural acid dissolves alkaline sweat residue that can cause yellow discolouration.
– When in doubt, always pick the smaller size as jeans stretch the more they’re worn.
– Put on too much fake tan or left some areas with streaks? Clean it up with a wedge of lemon.
– Invest in satin or silk pillowcases. They’re better to maintain smooth skin than cotton and they’ll ensure you don’t suffer as much damage to your hair during the night.
