So, after you all loved the Hot Chocolate With A Twist recipe we posted during Christmas, we decided to share another one we created! And this is definitely one of our favourites so if you’re staying in tonight, we highly recommend you try it! It’s the perfect end to the first week of January!
This is seriously chocolatey, so if you have a sweet tooth, you will love it!
We have tweaked it to suit our own tastes so feel free to do the same with yours!
All you need is:
- 30ml-50ml of Baileys (don’t be tempted to add more. This is plenty!)
- 3-4 tablespoons of vanilla ice cream. (This might sound like a lot, but trust us, once blended, this will be just enough to fill one martini glass)
- Crushed chocolate (We used a Cadburys Flake)
Place the ice cream and the Baileys in a blender (we used a NutriBullet). Remember, if you want your drink to have a slightly thicker and creamier consistence – which is what we recommend – then you only need to blend it for around 2-3 seconds, or 2 brief pulses if using the the NutriBullet.
If you prefer for your cocktail to have a more liquidy consistency, then blend it for a bit longer.
Crush up approximately a quarter of the chocolate Flake and place it at the bottom of the glass.
Now pour the baileys and ice cream mix over the layer of chocolate. If your drink is of a thick consistency, and if you have a serious sweet tooth, then you should be able to add a second light layer of crushed chocolate half way up the glass before covering it with the rest of the mix.
Decorate the top as you wish. You can add a little sprinkle of chocolate … or you can go all out and add a layer of it.
If you do, try folding it into the mix before you drink it. We did and it was seriously gorgeous!
