REVIEW: CrownbrushUK NEW Foundation & Illuminators!

crownbrush

One of the most exciting things about being the Irish ambassador for CrownBrush UK, is that I get to see what products are coming up ahead of their launch on the website.

A few months ago, I was sent the brand new range of Crownbrush foundations & illuminators to try out, and, after using them, I couldn’t WAIT to tell you guys all about them! Now that they have launched on the site, it’s time to fill you in on each product and why you are going to love them!

*Disclamimer* – regardless of being the Irish Ambassador for Crownbrushuk, I only talk about products I love on SoSueMe.ie and can 100% recommend for you guys! All opinions are honest and genuine.

1. Illuminating Foundation, €22.57

The foundation is packaged in a pretty, simple bottle. I adore the size –  40ml, which is ideal for taking with you when traveling. The foundation itself is a thick liquid. I loved the consistency, because it gave my skin that lovely hydrated feeling. It is so easy to apply and it blends to perfection as well.

The bottle states the coverage is light to medium but I would definitely be saying the coverage is more of a  medium to full coverage, which suits me, as I love a foundation that offers a natural looking dewy finish but yet can still hide your blemishes. You can see me using the CrownBrush foundation in my recent makeup tutorial on YouTube here.

These foundations come in a total of 7 shades, ranging from super light right through to very dark – so you are bound to find your perfect match. I am currently using shade FK115 which is ideal for my skin tone, especially when I am wearing my tan. If I want to tone it down, then I either mix it with number FK101 or my Makeup Forever HD Foundation 123.

I understand that you are going to have to purchase a foundation online without testing it first, which can be very difficult, so I would recommend getting in touch with Crownbrush on their live chat, if you are unsure of what shade would suit your skin tone. These foundations are perfect for normal, oily and dehydrated skin types, however ….. and here’s a tip to bear in mind…….I would advise anyone with an oily skin type to powder their T-zone when using this foundation as the dewy finish really shines through, but in a fab way.

Overall I am a very impressed with this foundation – I love the coverage, the dewy finish, and even the size of the bottle, so it’s a major thumbs up for me. I did notice however that at times the pump action didn’t work as well as normal, but Crownbrush informed that its due to a lack of air getting in as they are air pumps so, if this happens to you, all you have to do is unscrew the top allow air in and then it should work perfectly again.

On top of the x7 shades, there are x2 illuminators – that I have fallen in love with; one is a pale creamy iridescent finish, which is perfect for day and then you have a rich rose, golden sheen which is perfect for night. Which brings me on to my next product review.

2. Liquid Highlighters. €22.57

Now, if you read my blog on daily basis, which I hope you do 🙂 , then you would know that I am HIGHLIGHTERS obsessed. Yesterday, I wrote an updated blog post on my Top 5 Highlighters right now but I totally forgot to include the CrownBrush one and I am kicking myself for it! It has fast become one of my faves, along side the No7 illuminating Beauty Fluid.

Like I already stated, there are two tones of illuminators – one is a light pale/pinky tone FK140, which you can see me using in a makeup tutorial here. This one is more for a day time look or paler skin tones. I use it as my makeup base and it gives a lovely glowy look to my makeup.

The second colour, which is my fave, is a rose gold/golden highlighter FK165. This is perfect for warmer/olive skin tones, and it offers the most amazing golden sheen ever. Both of these illuminators blend extremely well and results in your overall appearance looking fresh, dewy and healthy!

You can purchase the paler illuminator here and the golden one here

And so there you have it!

Has anyone else tried either of these new products and if so what are your thoughts?

Happy Shopping!

Great price for the size of the bottle. My mac and Maybelline are 30 mls so it looks like good value. Running out of foundation so might try this next although your review of Lancôme’s new foundation makes me want to try that too!!! Love all these reviews xxxx
