What I Wore: Birthday Night Style!

Last Saturday night, after what was an incredibly sad and emotional few days, I went out with a few friends to enjoy a few drinks for my 31st birthday.

As you may know, my beloved nanny Burke passed away last week so I wasn’t really in the form for going out but in the end, I was glad I did because it was nice to be among friends and family to let down the hair and blow off a bit of steam.

We had a few people over to the apartment first and then afterwards we all went to our local haunt – The Wright Venue. When we arrived, Brook our pal (who owns the club) brought us to a beautiful private suite where there was everything from balloons to chilled vodka all laid out for us. It was such a lovely gesture and I want to say a big thank you to Brook for all the effort he went to make my night special.

We had such an amazing night. There really is nothing like a get-together with friends and family to lift you up when you’re feeling out of sorts or down in the dumps.

On the night, I decided to wear two pieces I picked up from River Island recently.

Lots of you loved the crop top in particular. Isn’t the colour so vibrant? The design along the rim is so beautiful too. It’s very Versace-style, I thought.

There’s also a midi-skirt to match the top which I may yet pick up the next time (see it here) I’m in River Island. Matching sets are all the rage right now and there are some seriously cute ones on the high street! This would be a cool outfit on someone…

On the night however, I decided to wear the top with a black leather skirt, which I accessorised with my Louboutin heels and YSL clutch. To finish the look, I decided to wear my hair up in a high voluminised pony with a clip in side-fringe for something different.
