New Skincare Faves For Glowing Skin!

skincare tips

Being a beauty blogger, I am sent my fair share of products to try out and test monthly. Some make it to the blog, a lot don’t – but when it comes to skincare, if I find the right products I will shout and scream about them for days and even weeks! Skin is SO important and the secret to achieving good makeup application and that ‘glow’ everyone chases.

I get so many emails and questions on my social media pages about skincare, and how I keep my skin healthy looking with such a hectic lifestyle etc. Truth is, I have a really good skincare regime. For months I have been using the Juilette Armand range, and although I LOVED it, I decided it was time to try out some new products so that I could report back here and give some new suggestions. Once I had completely finished my Juliette Armand products, I started looking for new products to try.

My skin is normal to dry with some dehydration. This isn’t helped by the fact that I 100% do NOT drink enough water! Lately however I have been trying my best to increase my intake. Dylan is always harping on about the benefits. In fact, a couple of months ago he bought a water filter jug for our fridge in SuperValu, and he now says I have no excuse as I used to use the ‘I hate tap water’ excuse! Haha!

To be fair, filtered water is SO much nicer and I love a glass from the filter jug, especially with a slice of lemon. So I am making a conscious effort to up my intake.

Even if I do manage to make it to 8 glasses a day, my skin will still lack hydration due to the heating in our house – one of the downsides to working from home! Similarly, the air con is always on in my car whenever I am driving to events, and of course the cold Irish winter weather really plays havoc with my skin.

You actually might remember from my Snapchat (sosueme_ie) about three weeks ago that I was testing out these Image Skincare products. Well fast forward three weeks and I’m loving them!

First and foremost, I am NOT paid to talk about them, nor was I always a fan of the brand IMAGE. I actually tried the eye cream some years ago and wasn’t impressed at all – but these two get a big thumbs up and here is why!

1 – Image Skincare Vital C Serum

The Vital C serum is a beautiful product! I love the consistency – it dries super fast and it smells divine. That’s the first thing I noticed.

This hydrating serum rejuvenates dull, dry, tired skin and smooths out those visible effects of stress and fatigue – which is EXACTLY what I needed.

According to IMAGE skincare, the serum incorporates the new technology of oil-soluble Vitamin C which is designed to immediately soothe any visible effects of environmentally damaged skin. It also contains vitamins A & E too both of which nourish the skin to create a healthy, youthful glow. I usually use about two pumps of this and I always apply it right before my moisturiser. Any time I’m applying a serum, I put it on before the moisturiser. That way, the serum is locked in.

At the moment, I am using a DECLARE moisturiser and although I am a BIG fan of their cleanser, I’m really not loving the moisturiser for my skin – it simply isn’t rich enough, so I’m on the hunt for a new moisturiser to try out. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on that.

The Vital Serum was actually voted the best Image product – which is impressive considering the amount of products they have available. So, if like me, you suffer with dehydrated and tired skin from time to time, then you should definitely try this!

You should have no problem picking it up in any salon that stocks the brand.

2 – Image Skincare Iluma Brightening Exfoliating Powder

Ok so years ago I was a HUGE fan of Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. I loved the results, and I especially loved how light and non abrasive it was… well I have found something similar and even better!

The IMAGE ILUMA Intense Brightening Exfoliating powder is amazing and it smells soooo good, you could practically eat it! I use it every second day in the shower but what I love about it is, it’s actually gentle enough for daily use. The exfoliating powder is combined with botanical brighteners so it buffs away the dead skin cells which not only brightens the skin but leaves it looking healthy, smooth and glowing.

Think it’s safe to say, I ‘m addicted!

Again, you can get this in any salons that stock the range.

And there you have it – two new products I have been using and loving!

Is anyone else a fan?
